Dr. John R. Tuttle is an entrepreneur, executive and technologist with nearly 30 yrs of experience in the semiconductor, cleantech & photovoltaic (PV) Industries. He is presently a Senior Commercialization Advisor within the Advanced Research Projects Agency Energy within the U.S. Department of Energy. Previously, he was the CEO / Principal at Skypoint Solar, Inc., a firm providing management and technology consulting for the cleantech industry. Prior to Skypoint, he founded and was Chairman / CEO of DayStar Technologies, Inc. a company created in 1996 to pioneer new approaches to solar PV product design, manufacturing and commercialization. Dr. Tuttle capitalized the Company through private & public equity totaling over $45M, and transitioned it from R&D to production with over 100 employees. Prior to DayStar, he spent 11 yrs at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory where he led research efforts pertaining to thin-film solar cells and is credited with the design and fabrication of PV devices with world-record efficiencies. Dr. Tuttle also serves on several not-for-profit Boards in the educational realm. He has authored or co-authored over 70 publications, 14 Patent's and Patent applications, and conducted in excess of 200 presentations to both technical and business audiences. Dr. Tuttle holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Colorado, an M.S. in Physics from the Colorado School of Mines and a B.S in Engineering Physics from Cornell University.
